Une bande de jeunes voyous inoffensifs vivote de petits coups. Après un braquage loupé, ils se trouvent dans l'impossibilité de régler leurs dettes au caïd du coin, qui, pour le rembourser, leur propose le cambriolage d'une fondation d'art moderne. Mais rien ne se passe comme prévu et tout s'enchaîne... mal.

The Mozart Residence is home to several "new owners" of all origins: a new concierge, Paco, of Spanish origin, who has just been released from prison, arrives at the residence. Around it, the hall and the mailboxes, the "ballet" of the Residence Mozart is organized.

Daniel Berger, a devious and corrupt civil servant, is willing to do anything to keep his empire of embezzlement intact. One day, he receives a visit from Werner Schäfer, a Zurich-based consultant tasked with assessing the efficiency of his administration. To make matters worse, Schäfer has taken up residence right next door to Berger's villa. Daniel's entire world is shaken by the arrival of this new neighbor.

An ambitious civil servant's career dreams are shattered when his nose falls off. All the worse, the nose starts living its own life and achieves the success its former owner wanted.

The story takes place in Italy, a country where terrorism and kidnappings are almost daily occurrences. Rampant banditry, injustice, coercion, and ultimately hopelessness stem from political events. Sunny Italy is no longer just a place of ancient monuments and tables laden with fine wine. Now it is primarily a place of ever-deepening social and political divisions.
